8 Steps for Interior Design
I have attended to a seminar with the topic: "8 Steps for Interior Design". It is a fruitful session and the speaker, Eric Leong is a damn funny "botak" man. Haha... So, suggest that you all go attend his seminar if there is a chance.
I think is good to share the 8 steps with you all : -
- Style
- Choose a style for your house: balenese style , modern style, resort syle, Gen Style or etc. - Feature Wall
- Choose a wall you will see 1st when you open the door. You can also use glass sliding door as feature wall by using big, long curtain. Tips: feature wall in the room must be behind the bed. - Colour
- Colour is very important to decide the ambience in your house. Different colours has different feeling. Tips: blue represent calm; while green represent fresh. - Painting
- Must be one wall with dark colour and others in light colour to create the depth effect. Tips: Choose to paint the feature wall with the dark colour. - Furniture
- It is suggested to take "queen" or "single" bed for the room. "King" size sometimes might occupied too much of the space. Tips: Must have bed side table; use small table as chair will help to save space; It is not advicesable to buy whole set furniture. Eg: bedroom set or sofa. - Soft Furniture
- Things such as curtain, table cloth and bedsheet are soft furnitures. It is better to match the colour of soft furniture to the feature wall. There are 3 types of curtain: Night curtain, Day Curtain and Trasparent Curtain. - Lighting
- There are 2 types of lighting: Day Light & Warm Light. It is suggested to use all warm light but must have day light in the kitchen and bathroom as well as the make-up room. Tips: Better to have light at every corner - good for Feng Shui. - Acessories
- It is advisable to buy a few big item for decoration rather than those small items. Small small thing will only become vacumm! Tips: Use candle for warm light effect.
Uhm.... I think.... i only able to remember these much.... Hehe...
Should it be time for us to put on some colours in our rooms?
Or buying some accesories to cheer up the ambience of our house?
Hoping that these very basic skills of the interior design will help to give you some ideas of how you design your dream house or room. ;D
